With MetLife Legal Plans, you have access to experts who can assist you with a broad range of personal legal needs you might face throughout your life, including:

  • Money matters, such as identity theft and bankruptcy
  • Home and real estate assistance
  • Family and personal legal needs, such as adoption or immigration assistance
  • Estate planning documents
  • Elder care issues, nursing home agreements, Medicare/Medicaid and more!

Network attorneys are available in person, by phone, or by email. As a MetLife Legal Plans member, you, your spouse/partner and eligible dependents have unlimited access to in-network attorneys for the legal matters covered under the plan at no out-of-pocket cost to you. If you choose an out-of-network attorney, your MetLife legal plan will reimburse your eligible costs according to a fee schedule.

You can only enroll in MetLife Legal Plans during Annual Enrollment or if you are a new hire.

Upon leaving Citi, your group legal coverage will end. However, you have the option to enroll in individual legal coverage with automatic monthly payments made from your bank account. Learn more by visiting MetLife.com/individual-legal-plans or calling MetLife Legal Plans at 1 (800) 821-6400.

Support for Caregivers

As part of your MetLife Legal Plans coverage, you have unlimited access to a confidential, multi-disciplinary team of highly trained experts (physicians, social workers and counselors) who can support your unique caregiving situation and help you create a holistic care plan for your loved one. These services are provided in partnership with Family First.

Caregiving services include:

  • Reviewing your situation in detail to provide customized caregiving guidance and support.
  • Providing expert information about a variety of caregiving options, including eldercare, care for cognitive issues/dementia, hospice, homecare, substance abuse/addiction treatment and more.
  • Developing a personalized care plan for your loved one.
  • Offering support for your own needs as a caregiver.

For more details about these services, review this document.

Note: All employees have access to caregiving resources and support through Bright Horizons, whether you're enrolled in MetLife Legal Plans or not.

Consider Coverage for Your Parents and Parents-in-Law!

To support your ability to take care of your family at every stage of life, Citi offers MetLife Legal Plans with Plus Parents coverage (when first enrolling or when updating your benefits during Annual Enrollment). This additional benefit option gives your parents and parents-in-law access to valuable legal guidance on important issues they may be facing, including estate planning, elder care, identity theft and more.

Plus Parents coverage accommodates extended and blended families, with coverage for up to eight parents (four sets) allowed.
