At Citi, we invest in you with programs that make it easier and more affordable to continue learning, building skills and advancing your career. From tuition reimbursement and assistance to coaching, webinars and flexible options to earn college credits, Citi’s expanded educational support, offered in partnership with Bright Horizons EdAssist Solutions Platform, helps you achieve your educational and professional development goals.
To ease the financial burden of obtaining a college degree or professional certificate, Citi offers both tuition assistance and tuition reimbursement to eligible employees.
If you have at least 90 days of service with Citi and are a full-time or part-time employee scheduled to work at least 20 hours per week, you may be eligible for tuition reimbursement or assistance. Additional performance requirements apply. You also must be actively working for the duration of the course, at the time you submit your application and on the date any tuition reimbursement or assistance is paid. Refer to the Citi Tuition Program Guidelines for more details.
You may receive tuition assistance or reimbursement for fees associated with courses taken at an accredited college or university in the U.S. Courses that qualify for tuition assistance or reimbursement are:
You must earn a minimum grade of C minus or pass a “pass/fail” class to receive tuition reimbursement or to continue to be eligible for tuition assistance.
In addition to tuition for qualifying courses, Citi will cover fees that are both mandatory and directly related to and required for qualifying courses. These expenses may include:
Refer to the Citi Tuition Program Guidelines for more details.
Each calendar year, you may be eligible to receive up to a maximum of:
Note that IRS regulations allow up to $5,250 in employer-funded educational support to be exempt from taxation. Citi will withhold taxes from payment amounts for graduate work that exceed the limit.
Citi offers personalized education coaching through the Bright Horizons EdAssist Solutions Platform to help you determine the right path for your goals. Once you’ve decided which courses to register for, you must submit an online application for tuition assistance or reimbursement prior to the beginning of the course(s). Visit the Bright Horizons EdAssist Solutions Platform to begin your application.
It’s not easy to work and take courses to earn a college degree at the same time. Through Citi’s partnership with Bright Horizons EdAssist Solutions Platform, we now offer a new program called Education Access. With this program, employees who have a high school diploma or GED can complete the general education courses required for their bachelor’s degree.
Using Bright Horizons FastTrack, it’s easy and flexible to complete these course requirements online — with no upfront cost! The credits transition seamlessly to the five partner schools offered with the Education Access program. To participate in the Education Access program, employees must meet the same eligibility requirements as those for the Citi Tuition Program mentioned above.
In addition, Bright Horizons EdAssist offers Citi employees exclusive discounts on tuition and fees at 220+ schools.
